Why Animas?
Originally during 8th grade I was planning on attending Durango High School. Later in the year I realized that DHS wasn't really for me and that I was ready for something different . So I thought about Animas. I had heard of Animas before but I didn't know much about it. After some research I learned that animas was a project based learning school. I was also ready for a much smaller school, after learning that animas only had fifty kids per grade animas started to appeal to me. Even after all of my research I still wanted to learn more about animas. I decided to go on a shadow day. On my shadow day I got a chance to tour the school, attend some classes, meet some teachers and go throughout a day at animas. After the shadow day I really put in some thought if I wanted to go to Animas or not. After some long and hard thinking I decided that this was the school for me, some of my friends were going, I liked the idea of project based learning, the teachers were really nice. And then a few weeks ago I finally arrived at Animas, I have been liking Animas so far this year, it’s been pretty fun so far, teachers are really fun and nice and the project based learning is fun. Some hopes that I have for this school year are to have fun, meet new people, have my grades be A’s and B’s and just have a good time.
